Happy Teacher Professional Development Comes to Illinois!

Happy Teacher Professional Development will be in the Chicago area facilitating their popular Happy Teacher workshop this April. The workshop focuses on self-care, time management, and integrating social-emotional learning. Teachers feeling overwhelmed and at risk of burnout are encouraged to attend. 

Teacher shortages are impacting schools across Illinois. Low pay and the daily stressors of teaching are some of the top reasons why teachers leave and young people are hesitant to join the field. Happy Teacher Professional Development focuses on these issues, making them different from other companies. Their professional development opportunities provide teachers with tools that not only help in the classroom but address personal and professional challenges that may impact their ability to be successful in their careers.

Happy Teacher Professional Development believes that a well-balanced teacher is a Happy Teacher and that a happy teacher will stay in their job. Courses include health and wellness, time management, stress management courses, teacher burnout prevention, social-emotional learning (SEL), and information about how to earn more money as a teacher while receiving additional training. 

Happy Teacher Professional Development’s in-person Workshops are available in three Chicago-area locations:

April 13th, 4:30 pm – 7:30 pm at UW Sports Factory, Rockford

April 14th, 4:30 pm – 7:30 pm at Orland Park Civic Center

April 15th, 9:00 am – 12:00 pm at Rainbow Falls Waterpark, Elk Grove Village

This workshop explores ways to:

• Increase effectiveness through time management strategies.
• Boost staff and student connection with evidence-based teaching strategies.
• Implement quick and simple techniques for improving social-emotional learning (SEL).
• Improve job satisfaction by implementing creative stress management techniques.

Workshop participants will receive:

• An introduction to four of Happy Teacher’s online courses.
• Instructions on how to move up the pay scale in the district.
• A certificate for 15 hours towards license renewal upon completion of the follow-up activity.
• Optional accredited University graduate-level transcript.**
