Create a Teacher Website Using New Google Sites

Are you trying to meet the needs of all the students in your classroom?  Would you like an easy way to keep absent students caught up?  In this 2 credit graduate-level course, you will create or improve a teacher website to make your life easier. We will cover website graphic design, plan your website, create a new google site, add text boxes, images, dividers, media (calendars, links, videos), pages, and publish the site.  This is a great way to demonstrate how you incorporate technology into the classroom. This course will give you 30 hours of hands-on time so you can walk away with a useful teacher website that will increase your effectiveness, time management, and communication.  

 Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to: 

1. Recognize good website graphic design.
2. Assess and establish a purpose for their classroom website.
3. Determine the layout design for their website.
4. Construct a new Google Site that will benefit their class and students by creating a place where students can receive additional help, feedback, and lessons.
5. Produce a text box, images, and dividers to design the pages.
6. Select media to enhance their instruction (calendars, folders, videos, links).
7. Organize pages and subpages.
8. Publish their site and add Google Analytics to assess student usage.
