Happy Teacher Professional Development Graduate Courses can help you fulfill Connecticut's renewal requirement. In Connecticut, license renewal requirements are different depending on your issue date.

For certifications issued before July 1, 2018:

• Teachers must have 30 semester hours of credit beyond a bachelor’s degree in an accredited program.
• Allowable credit must be documented on official transcripts.
• State law requires that renewal credits be completed at a regionally accredited college or university. All of our university partners, including Upper Iowa University and Adams State University, are HLC-accredited.
• You can choose either one two-semester-credit course or two one-semester-credit courses per year to fulfill your state requirement.
• When registering, be sure to select “Course + Graduate Level Credit” to ensure your coursework meets Connecticut's requirements.

For certifications issued on or after July 1, 2018:

• Teachers must complete a master's degree in a subject area related to their endorsement (teaching specialization).  See our Master's degree partnership with Upper Iowa University that can save you over $2,660!  Earn your Masters in Education degree for $10,000!  Work in a low income school? 

When registering, be sure to select “Course + Graduate Level Credit.”

• 1 semester credit = 15 hours
• 2 semester credits = 30 hours
• 3 semester credits = 45 hours
