Canva for Educators

This graduate-level course provides K–12 educators with a practical and comprehensive exploration of Canva for Education as a tool for instructional design, student engagement, communication, and digital creativity. Grounded in the Canva Teacher Essentials training, participants will develop the skills needed to create, customize, deliver, and evaluate high-quality instructional resources. Educators will explore Canva’s templates, design tools, and Magic Studio features to support lesson planning, differentiated instruction, assessment development, translation, and instructional productivity while creating resources that are visually engaging, purposeful, and immediately applicable to the classroom.

The course also examines how Canva can support student-centered learning and creative demonstrations of understanding. Participants will explore strategies for using presentations, infographics, digital storytelling, videos, comic strips, and collaborative projects to increase engagement and provide students with multiple ways to demonstrate learning. Educators will also gain experience assigning activities, distributing individual student copies, monitoring progress, and providing meaningful feedback through Canva’s collaborative tools.

Upon completion of this course, the participant will be able to:

• Create, customize, and evaluate Canva-based instructional materials that support K–12 teaching and learning
• Apply Canva Magic Studio tools to enhance lesson planning, differentiation, assessment, translation, and instructional productivity
• Design visually engaging and purposeful classroom resources using principles of effective instructional design
• Develop student-centered learning experiences that incorporate digital storytelling, presentations, infographics, videos, collaborative projects, and other creative demonstrations of learning
• Use Canva for Education to assign activities, distribute student materials, monitor progress, and provide meaningful feedback
• Integrate Canva strategically into classroom instruction to increase engagement, creativity, accessibility, and student participation
