
Course Description
Google AI in K–12 Education is designed to help educators understand and apply Google AI tools in meaningful, responsible, and practical ways. Throughout the course, participants will explore how tools such as Gemini, Gems, NotebookLM, Google Classroom AI features, and Google Workspace with Gemini can support teaching, learning, communication, creativity, and productivity.
Participants will learn how to write effective prompts, evaluate AI-generated responses, personalize learning materials, create classroom resources, support student engagement, and use AI grounded in trusted information. The course also introduces premium Gemini and NotebookLM Pro features so educators can understand what additional tools may be available through their school or district.
By the end of the course, educators will be better prepared to use Google AI tools to save time, strengthen instruction, support diverse learners, and thoughtfully integrate AI into their professional practice. This course also supports preparation for the Google AI in K–12 Education exam and credential.
Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:

Explain foundational AI concepts related to Google AI in K–12 education, including generative AI, responsible AI use, prompt writing, accuracy, privacy, and ethical classroom implementation.

Apply effective prompting strategies using tools such as Gemini to create, revise, personalize, and improve education-related resources for instruction, communication, assessment, and student support.

Create classroom-ready materials using Google AI tools, including Gemini, Gems, Google Classroom AI features, NotebookLM, and Google Workspace with Gemini.

Evaluate AI-generated content for accuracy, alignment, appropriateness, accessibility, bias, student privacy, and usefulness before applying it in a classroom or school setting.

Develop a practical implementation plan for using Google AI tools to save time, support differentiation, increase student engagement, and prepare for the Google AI in K–12 Education certification exam.
