Using Seesaw to Elevate Student Work

Are you looking for ways to elevate the student voice and work in the classroom? Maybe you were thrown into remote teaching with no idea where to begin. Look no further! Seesaw is a versatile tool that allows teachers to differentiate, assign work, give feedback, connect to families and promote student creativity all in one place! In this 3 credit graduate-level course, you will learn about Seesaw, set up your account and create a class, customize features and tools, connect families, organize your assignments, utilize the Activity Library, and learn about the different versions. This course will give you 45 hours of hands-on learning and slowly walk you through the process of optimizing your Seesaw account!

Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:

1. Create a class in Seesaw and add students using a preferred sign in method.
2. Describe Seesaw and its benefits for students, teachers, and families.
3. Create folders to organize student work.
4. Customize the class account with important features and settings.
5. Use the tools Seesaw provides to draw, take a picture, write a note, add a link, upload a file, or take a video.
6. Connect families to student accounts.
7. Combine multiple tools to create a student activity.
8. Research and assign a pre-made activity to students through the “Activity Library.”
9. Design an original activity using the Seesaw tools.
10. Provide a model example for students using the “Sample Student” feature.
